A cooler and less humid Wednesday is setting us up for a cool overnight. Thursday will be dry for most of the state. Rain and thunderstorms develop Thursday night into Friday.
Mostly dry Thursday; rain overnight into Friday

With afternoon highs that only managed the 70s and 60s, combined with lower dew points, it will set us up for a cool overnight. Lows will fall into the 40s across northern Minnesota and into the 50s in southern Minnesota. The Twin Cities proper will drop into the low 60s.
Clouds increase Thursday but it should be dry for most but far western Minnesota during the day. Highs will be back in the 70s for most of the state.

Showers and a few thunderstorms will spread east overnight Thursday night into Friday morning across much of Minnesota. There won’t be a lot of energy for thunderstorms, which should help limit heavy rains.
Rainfall amounts for most will be well under 1 inch with the heaviest rainfall falling in northwestern Minnesota, which has seen the least rainfall this month.
We should dry out for the weekend but it will be cooler than normal with highs in the low to mid-70s in southern Minnesota to just 60s in portions of northern Minnesota.
The next chance of rain and thunder will arrive late Monday. Temperatures should be closer to normal next week.
