What matters to Minnesota voters in the first presidential debate

Former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden last met on the debate stage in 2020.

The first contest quickly devolved into a night filled with political jabs and talking over one another. Tonight’s debate should be different with some new rules in place, but what should Minnesotans expect to hear from both candidates?

MPR News host Tom Crann talked with two political observers in Minnesota: Kaley Taffe, former legislative staffer and republican campaign operative and Susan Kent, former DFL lawmaker.
