Showers and thunderstorms develop Thursday. A few could be strong and locally heavy rainfall is possible. Spotty storm chances persist into the weekend.
Periods of showers and thunder develop into Friday
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will fill in through the afternoon and evening Thursday. Periods of showers and thunderstorms will persist into early Friday.
There’s a slight risk of excess rainfall Thursday into Thursday night.
There’s also a slight risk (level 2 of 5) of severe storms late Thursday for southern Minnesota. Some storms could produce large hail or some isolated, damaging wind gusts.
Rainfall totals will be as high as 1 to 3 inches in the southern half of Minnesota into western Wisconsin. Locally heavier rainfall is possible in portions of southern Minnesota.
The weekend will continue to offer spotty rain and thunder chances with the best chance on Sunday. Both days will also yield a mid of clouds snd sun however and will not be as wet as Thursday into early Friday.
