You can give the AC a rest in Minnesota for most of this week. And the Doppler. A cooler and less humid air mass is starting to blow into Minnesota from Canada.

Dew points are already in the 50s in far northern Minnesota. Northwest breezes will scour out the tropical humidity across all of Minnesota by Tuesday.

On the map below, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s NAM 3 km model loop shows the dew point forecast through Tuesday night. Dew point will fall into the 50s south and even 40s north by Tuesday night.

Drier skies

A couple of isolated showers may linger on Tuesday, but the bulk of this week looks mainly dry for most of Minnesota.

A few models try and bring thunderstorms into southwest Minnesota by Friday. NOAA’s Global Forecast System model shows drier cooler high pressure settling in from Canada this week. The forecast model loop below runs into Friday.
