Expect a pleasant weekend as temperatures approach our seasonal averages. Increased moisture and instability will lead to a few pop-up showers and thunderstorms.
Warmer temps, mostly dry weekend
Temperatures are already warming into the upper 70s and lower 80s Friday afternoon. We will see a steady warming trend into the weekend with our temperatures approaching the lower to mid-80s for Saturday.
The weekend looks mostly dry with some isolated showers and thunderstorms possible, mainly for areas south of Interstate 94 early Saturday. North-central Minnesota also has a potential for these showers.
Hazy sunshine will filter in through northern Minnesota Saturday. This wildfire smoke will create a moderate concern for air quality.
Temperatures will be above average as we head toward the second half of the month. Forecast models show upper 80s, maybe a shot at some more 90s!
