Showers and thunderstorm chances continue into Sunday night. Showers will once again be slow moving, so some heavier rainfall is possible. The threat for severe weather remains minimal.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms expected in the afternoons, through Tuesday.
Forecast models show a nearly stationary front draped across Minnesota for early this week, before a stronger cold front moves in for Tuesday.
Temperatures will continue to climb into the lower 80s this week. Inching upwards to the upper 80s by next weekend. Our dew points continue to be sticky in the lower to mid-60s.
Flash flooding from earlier storms.
Storms rolled through the metro area earlier today bringing rainfall totals of 2.5 inches in a short time frame. This brought some localized flooding to the Saint Paul area.
Air quality concerns this week.
Wildfire smoke from Canada will continue to infiltrate the state this week. We have weaker northerly winds aloft allowing that smoke and haze to linger through the week. The air quality forecast is at a moderate level.
