Former Rainbow Health employee says sudden closure of HIV clinic is a ‘huge loss’

Members of the HIV-positive community and the providers who served them at Rainbow Health are in shock after the organization’s abrupt closure last week after more than 40 years of service.

Rainbow Health was at the forefront of services for HIV and AIDS at a time when major health organizations weren’t providing such care.

Rik Kutcher, a former HIV and LGBTQ+ aging services advocate at Rainbow, talked about the legacy of the organization and what its sudden closure means for the community.
