Thursday will be beautiful and mostly sunny. Heat and humidity push back in Friday into next week with highs occasionally near 90. The next thunder chance comes late Sunday.

Thursday will be almost picture-perfect with mostly sunny skies and highs warming up close to normal levels in the low to mid-80s.

Winds will start to shift, becoming south, and that will start to pull back in muggy and warmer air.

When combined with muggy dew points, the heat index values Friday afternoon will be well into the 90s in western Minnesota. Some places could reach 100 degrees.

Highs Saturday and Sunday will be in the upper 80s, close to 90 degrees along with muggy dew points. Late Sunday into Monday will also bring the next chance of some thunderstorms.

Much of next week looks quite hot, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s into the first days of August. The climate prediction center’s six to 10-day outlook gives Minnesota 80 to 90 percent odds of above-normal temperatures.
