Storms overnight in northwestern Minnesota brought 3-6 inches of rainfall, leading to flash flood concerns for portions of Polk county. There remains a slight risk for severe today for the same area with a stalled front.

As the stalled front shifts eastward on Sunday, that will introduce shower and storm chances for the metro area. Some uncertainty remains in the forecast regarding the timing and placement of this activity. Look for the rain to start in western Minnesota early Sunday and then slowly progress to the east. We will see shower and storm chances mainly late Sunday into Monday. Severe weather threat is marginal at best according to the Storm Prediction Center.

Another day of breezy winds of out the south, with gusts over 20 mph. Winds will decrease tonight into the overnight hours.
Cooldown expected on Monday.
Cooler temperatures will settle in briefly for Monday as highs return back into the lower to mid 80s.
