We’ll have lingering morning showers Monday. Steamy conditions will persist this week with above-normal temperatures and humid air. There will be more thunder chances ahead.
Spotty storm chances with humid air through the week
Lingering showers will dissipate through the morning Monday with decreasing clouds. Highs Monday will be mostly well into the 80s and it will still be pretty humid with dew points in the upper 60s to around 70.
Storms will be possible overnight in the Dakotas and some of that activity could hold together and move across central and southern Minnesota late Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Storms that do develop could become severe to the west. There’s a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) forecast for severe weather for much of southern Minnesota into early Tuesday.
We’re back into sunshine for Tuesday afternoon with steamy conditions. Highs will be in the upper 80s with the humid air remaining in place.
The next chance of showers and thunderstorms develops Wednesday into Wednesday night with perhaps lingering showers into early Thursday. There’s a better chance that Wednesday storms could be more organized with increased severe chances.
It’s then back to sunshine and very warm conditions Thursday into Saturday. Temperatures all this week will average about 4 to 8 degrees above normal as we end July and transition to August.
