Hot, sunny Friday and Saturday with much cooler weather next week
We’ll have a sunny day Friday as stable air is back in place over Minnesota. Look for mostly clear skies most of the day.
It will also be hot for much of central and southern Minnesota with highs near 90 there. Highs will be in the low to mid-80s north.
Dew points will be mostly in the 60s instead of the 70s, making it not as steamy as it was earlier in the week. Highs Saturday will again be near 90 degrees for portions of southern Minnesota.
Northern Minnesota will see some spotty thunder develop Saturday afternoon into the evening hours. What’s left of those storms could drift south or even develop more thunder for southern Minnesota overnight Saturday into early Sunday.
There could be a lingering isolated thunder chance Sunday but the better chance for more widespread showers and thunderstorms develops midday Monday into Monday evening. Up to 1 inch of rainfall could fall Monday.
After Monday, next week will be mainly dry and cooler than normal. Highs will be mostly in the 70s, running several degrees below normal.
