Severe storms affected central Minnesota last night between 5pm and midnight. Some preliminary storm reports of 3-4 inch hail in Todd and Wadena county. Damaging winds up to 65 mph reported for Aitkin, Todd, Wadena, Kandiyohi, and Stearns county. Preliminary reports from Melrose suggest a tornado was part of these storms as well.
Another marginal risk for southern Minnesota including the Twin Cities is possible late this evening, into the overnight. We will have our stalled front continuing across the Minnesota and Iowa border.
Seasonal highs for Sunday; dewpoint relief in sight.
Highs for Sunday will be right around our average high in the lower 80s. Comfortable dewpoints already for northern Minnesota in the mid-50s.
Central and southern Minnesota will continue to have dewpoints in the mid-60s. Nature’s air conditioning will be in full effect starting on Monday!
Widespread rainfall for Monday.
Look for stratiform rain to continue through the day on Monday. With the cloud cover and rain, our temperatures will only be in the mid to upper 60s for central Minnesota, with low to mid-70s elsewhere. A few low 80s right along the Minnesota/Iowa border may spark some convective storms.
