The next disturbance is already bringing clouds back into the state along with showers in western Minnesota Wednesday. Showers will move across much of the state Wednesday night.
Clouds increase, showers develop
Look for increasing cloud cover Wednesday as the next, much more tame disturbance moves into Minnesota Wednesday into early Thursday.
Scattered showers will develop for western Minnesota and push east Wednesday night. Most of southeastern Minnesota and the Twin Cities will remain dry most of Wednesday. There could be a spotty afternoon sprinkle or two. Showers will linger north into Thursday.
High temperatures will reflect where there are thicker clouds and showers versus not. We’ll see mid-70s in southeastern Minnesota but just upper 60s in northwestern Minnesota for afternoon highs.

Rainfall amounts will generally be light. Far northern Minnesota may see one-half to three-quarters of an inch, but most will see well under that. In the Twin Cities, we may see only one-tenth of an inch to one-quarter inch of rainfall.
Behind the system will come a blast of even cooler air. Temperatures will be 10 to 15 degrees cooler than normal Thursday and Friday, slowly warming through the weekend.
Temperatures overnight Wednesday night will drop into the 40s and 50s.
We’ll be in for a fall preview the next couple of days. Highs will be in the 60s for much of the state Thursday and Friday with some low 70s in southern Minnesota. Those readings are more typical for late September.
In addition to the cooler temperatures, it will be pretty breezy Thursday and Friday with northwest winds 10-20 mph with gusts up to 25 to 30 mph.
