High pressure will keep things warm, mostly dry and bring lots of sun Monday and Tuesday. Some isolated to spotty thunder chances become possible later in the week.
Sunshine and warm, mostly dry weather continue
Temperatures will be back in the low to mid-80s across central and southern Minnesota with upper 70s in northeast Minnesota. Those readings are a few degrees above normal for the date. We’ll have lots of sunshine thanks to high pressure over Minnesota.
Canadian wildfire smoke returned to the skies of Minnesota over the weekend. Air quality is forecast to continue to be unhealthy for sensitive groups in northern Minnesota.

Tuesday will be more of the same, just a couple degrees cooler and with a few more clouds in the afternoon.
We’ll have some spotty showers and thunder possible Thursday, especially in northern and western Minnesota. The better chance for rain in eastern Minnesota will be mainly in the overnight Thursday night.
Overall, dew points will be comfortable most of this week after we saw a drop Sunday night into the 50s. Muggier air will return by the weekend.
An upper-level ridge or “heat dome” will be building into the region by the weekend. The upper-level area of high pressure creates clear skies and hot conditions.
Temperatures could be heating up by the weekend. It’s possible we could reach 90 degrees. We’ve only had six days in the 90s this summer in the Twin Cities. Normal to date is 10.
The six to 10-day temperature outlook calls for a high likelihood of above-normal temperatures for Minnesota into next week.
