After an incredibly busy week weather-wise, a quiet Labor Day forecast is welcomed by meteorologists. We experienced the hottest day of the year last Monday, and not one, not two, but three rounds of severe weather.
With Canadian high pressure overhead, expect a quiet stretch of weather through Wednesday. Temperatures will be slightly below our seasonal average. Lows tonight drop into the low 50s for the surrounding metro area, and mid to upper 40s elsewhere.
Look for highs in the mid 70s for Labor Day, with plenty of sunshine.
High pressure will move east, and introduce southerly winds as it exits. A brief warm-up into the low 80s for Wednesday with increasing winds.

Forecast models show a cold front moving through for late Wednesday night into early Thursday. There is not much moisture available for this system, so rainfall amounts remain fairly light with no severe anticipated.
Another cooler Canadian air mass will sag southward Thursday into Friday bringing even cooler temperatures. Highs on Thursday drop to the mid-70s and then upper 60s by Friday.
