Minneapolis native Chuck Aoki and the Team USA wheelchair rugby team won a silver medal Monday after losing the gold medal match in Paris to Japan by a score of 48 to 41.

Aoki scored 14 ‘tries’ in the match, meaning he was able to cross Japan’s ‘try-line’ with two wheels while also holding the ball.

The second-place finish adds to Aoki’s Paralympic medal total. He’s helped the USA Wheelchair Rugby team claim two silver medals and a bronze medal in previous competitions.

Aoki is one of 13 athletes from Minnesota competing in this year’s games.
