Three teenagers were injured by gunfire Monday night in St. Paul, just south of the state fairgrounds.
St. Paul police said officers were called to the 1000 block of Snelling Avenue North at about 10:20 p.m. That’s near the railroad overpass south of Como Avenue.
Officers found a teenager with a gunshot injury to the leg. Two other teens arrived at local hospitals with gunshot wounds — one to a leg, the other to their neck.
The three — all male — are expected to survive their injuries. Police said they’re believed to be 17 and 18 years old.
Authorities said they’re still working to determine what led up to the gunfire, and who is responsible. There were no arrests in the case at last report. Police urged anyone with information about the gunfire to call (651) 291-1111 and ask to speak with an officer.
The shooting happened about a half-mile south of the Minnesota State Fair’s main gate on Snelling Avenue and just over an hour after fair gates closed for the year. Authorities did not say whether they believed there was any connection to the event.
