We’ll have scattered showers and a few thunderstorms push ahead of the cool front overnight into early Thursday. Rainfall generally looks to be on the lighter side except maybe northeastern Minnesota, which could see one-half inch or so.
There is a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) that one or two storms could become strong or severe. We are not looking at a repeat of damaging storms from last week.
Friday will bring highs just in the 50s and 60s, the coolest such readings for many since May.
That will set us up for a very chilly Friday night. Frost will be possible in northeastern Minnesota, and the Twin Cities will see its first overnight in the 40s since late May.
We rebound quickly with summerlike temperatures returning by Monday and most of next week.
