Two people remained hospitalized Wednesday after a shooting that injured five teenagers in Burnsville last Friday. Police have not yet made any arrests.

In an update Wednesday on social media, Burnsville Police Chief Tanya Schwartz said officers are looking for multiple suspects. Police have canvassed the neighborhood and interviewed dozens of witnesses to the shooting at Red Oak Park.

The department is getting support from state and federal officials, including the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

“Our crime scene team continues to process evidence and look into all aspects of the scene,” Schwartz said in the statement. “We know residents may feel uneasy, and we take seriously our duty to find those responsible and bring them justice.”

Multiple callers reported gunshots in Red Oak Park around 8:15 p.m. last Friday. Initially, four of the injured teens were hospitalized; two have since been released from the hospital.

Police are now asking nearby residents to check home surveillance video footage from Friday, Aug. 30, around the time of the shooting, and report any information that may help investigators.

Schwartz said extra patrols are monitoring the Red Oak Park area.
