Very gusty winds will persist from Saturday night into Sunday with the passage of a cold front. Clearing skies tonight will provide an opportunity for northern lights viewing. Highs on Sunday are expected to return to average, ranging from the lower to mid-60s.
Northern lights opportunity
The two solar flares we experienced this week may lead to northern lights activity. Tonight’s aurora forecast outlines the intensity and location of the aurora, with the red line, known as the “view line,” indicating how far south the aurora will be visible.
After the front passes, our skies will clear, providing an ideal view for the northern lights.

Cooler Sunday, but still breezy
Temperatures will dip into the mid-60s on Sunday, aligning with our seasonal averages.
Breezy winds are expected to continue behind the front, coming from the north-northwest at 15-25 mph.
We will continue to experience a very dry, above-average weather pattern well into next week. The Climate Prediction Center's 8-14 day forecast indicates above-average temperatures and below-average precipitation.
