Twin Cities Marathon
It’s a beautiful start to the Twin Cities Marathon, with dew points in the upper 30s and temperatures in the low 50s, though breezy northwest winds are present. Winds will continue throughout the race, with highs warming into the upper 50s to low 60s.
High temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-60s for central and southern Minnesota, while the northland will experience cooler temperatures in the 50s. These temperatures are very close to our seasonal average.

Gusty winds will continue across the state, with northwest winds at 10-20 mph and gusts reaching 25-35 mph. Winds are expected to decrease through the evening hours.
Critical fire weather concerns
We remain cautious about fires due to the drought, high winds, and lower relative humidity. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources fire danger map indicates a high to very high risk.
Record temperatures by end of week
A ridge of high pressure will settle in this week, with no significant rain in sight. Temperatures are expected to rise throughout the week, potentially reaching record levels by Friday. The record high for October 11th is 85 degrees, set in 2015, and the forecasted high temperature is in the mid-80s.
