The Minnesota Lynx face the New York Liberty Wednesday evening at Target Center in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals.

Minnesota struggled early and faced double-digit deficits in Games 1 and 2, which the Lynx and Liberty split in the Big Apple.

Lynx Head Coach Cheryl Reeve told reporters her team needs to get off to a stronger start for the rest of the best-of-five series. “So we’ve gotta come up with better opportunities and better things that we can do offensively so we can get back to a little more of a balanced scoring,” she said.

To preview Game 3, Minnesota Lynx Analyst Lea B. Olson, with Bally Sports North, joined Morning Edition Host Cathy Wurzer.

“What’s so tricky about playing in these playoff games, especially in the finals, is that it’s really all about desperation, and who brings more energy — and when I’m talking about energy, I mean on every single play, every rebound, moving to box someone out, how quickly you get down court,” Olson said.

The Lynx have lagged behind the Liberty in both desperation and energy, she said.
