Red flag warning, anomalous warmth returns
It’ll be another dry and windy day Thursday. Highs will be close to 70 in southern Minnesota with 60s north and more sunshine.
Winds will be blustery again from the south at 10-25 mph, with higher gusts across much of the state as warmer air continues to move in.
Afternoon relative humidity values will drop to just 15-25 percent across western and southern Minnesota. The combined dry fuel (grasses, etc.) with gusty winds and low relative humidity will lead to another day of elevated fire weather conditions Thursday afternoon. A red flag warning is posted for much of Minnesota midday into the evening Thursday.
Friday will be even warmer with highs well into the 70s across southern Minnesota. We’ll see a few more clouds as a disturbance moves into the region.
Some light rain showers are possible, mainly in northwest Minnesota Friday into Saturday, with light rainfall amounts possible.
Highs will be in the 70s through Monday for southern Minnesota before cooling off by the middle of next week.
