Slight improvements have been observed in the drought conditions across Minnesota. The most significant change occurred in the metro area, where the entire Twin Cities region is now classified as “abnormally dry.”

Little rain, little improvement

Given the limited rainfall over the past week, it’s not surprising that only slight improvements have been seen. The map below illustrates the minimal rainfall received over the past 7 days, with some areas receiving only a few tenths of an inch, while others saw just over half an inch.

Slight improvements observed

Comparing last week's drought monitor with the current one, we can see that the larger metro area has now been classified in the “abnormally dry” (yellow) category.
