We’ll have some sunshine Friday and filtered sun Saturday. Both days will be warmer than normal. Next week turns wetter and colder by mid to late week.
Brighter skies Friday and Saturday with a potentially-stormy next week
Areas of fog will continue to burn off through the morning hours in central and southwest Minnesota. Make sure to soak up some vitamin D Friday afternoon and Saturday as next week looks quite active with lots of gloomy, damp days. Highs will be in the low to mid-50s across southern Minnesota Friday with mid-40s north.
Saturday will be even warmer but with a more high clouds, filtering the sun out a bit at times. Highs will be well into the 50s for much of Minnesota.
A a clipper-type system will graze northern Minnesota late Saturday into Sunday bringing relatively minor rain and snow showers.
Next week becomes quite interesting. A pair of upper level lows will be slow-moving, providing on and off rounds of rain and eventually snow as colder air moves in. The first round of moisture comes Monday night into Tuesday and Tuesday night followed by lingering moisture into Thursday and Friday.
It’s still early, but parts of Minnesota look likely to see at least some snow by the end of next week along with below-normal temperatures. The most likely areas to see snowfall at this point looks to be increasingly northern Minnesota. Here’s a look at several model forecasts:
Regardless, we’re likely in for a good soaking of needed moisture. Most models paint Minnesota with at least an inch of rainfall.
