Dry start to the week, before rain moves in
Monday will be mostly dry until late afternoon, when the northern edge of a low-pressure system moves into southern Minnesota. Widespread rainfall will increase Monday evening and continue into Tuesday, with totals expected to exceed an inch, and potentially more than an inch and a half in some areas.
Temperatures at the start of the week will be in the lower to mid-50s, well above the average high of 41 degrees. However, from Wednesday to Friday, cooler air will be pulled in behind this strong low-pressure system, dropping temperatures into the upper 30s to low 40s.
The forecast models are leaning more towards western, northwestern Minnesota for snow accumulation. Several inches are possible, but as more details emerge, we’ll have a clearer picture of the expected snowfall amounts.
