Widespread rainfall of 1 to more than 2 inches fell across Minnesota Monday into Tuesday. Here are some select rainfall totals from around Minnesota, in inches:

Wednesday snow
Cold air is funneling in behind out storm system overnight and Wednesday. That will change rain to snow across Minnesota. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s FV3 model shows a low spinning south into northwest Minnesota on Wednesday.
The most significant accumulations will fall across northwestern Minnesota, where winter weather advisories are posted for between 2 and 5 inches of snow.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM CST WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 5 inches. Snow banding and elevation differences may result in highly variable amounts over short distances. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph, primarily along and west of the Red River Valley.
* WHERE...The Red River Valley into adjacent areas of northwest and west central Minnesota.
* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 PM CST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
The Twin Cities will see occasional snow showers and may pick up coating on grassy areas Wednesday. It will feel like winter with gusty winds and temperatures in the 20s and 30s across Minnesota on Wednesday!
