It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in much of northeastern Minnesota this Thanksgiving week.

Several inches of snow fell across northeastern Minnesota. Some areas reported as much as 4 inches through midday Monday.

Here are some select snowfall totals:

  • Grand Marais, 4.5 inches

  • Duluth Airport, 4.1 inches

  • International Falls, 4 inches

  • Finland, 3.4 inches

  • Two Harbors, 3.1 inches

  • Hibbing, 3 inches

Winter weather advisories expire on the North Shore Monday afternoon as snow tapers off.

Frigid Thanksgiving week

A significant change in the upper wind flow is driving much colder air into Minnesota this week. It looks like our long, balmy languid autumn is finally giving way to wintry weather.

Thanksgiving week travel looks pretty good across Minnesota. But we’ll be feeling some very different temperatures this week. There may be a few flurries or light snow showers on Wednesday, but for most of this week we’ll enjoy some sunshine.

Highs Tuesday will run in the 20s and 30s across our region.
