It will be a cold and blustery Thanksgiving. Temps dip even more for Friday and Saturday. Wind chill values will be subzero statewide nearly early Friday and Saturday.
A cold Thanksgiving with colder temps to follow
It’s certainly cold and in fact it will be one of the coldest Thanksgivings of the past decade if not THE coldest if we can’t muster a high of 26 degrees in the Twin Cities. Highs will range from the teens northwest to 20s. There will be a few flurries for some and mostly cloudy skies.
Winds will also be blustery, from the northwest at 10-20 mph much of Thursday afternoon into Friday as well.
Wind chill values will be in the teens for eastern Minnesota during the day Thursday and in the single digits and even subzero at times in western Minnesota. Those wind chill values will range from 0 to as cold as 15 below zero early Friday morning.
Highs Friday and Saturday will likely not reach 20 degrees even for most of Minnesota. We should see some sunshine break out however by late Friday and Saturday.
Temperatures will rebound some by mid to late next week, back up above 30 degrees for at least central and southern Minnesota. A couple of clipper systems could bring additional flurry and light snow chances as well Sunday and Tuesday.
