Not as cold Monday; more snow showers possible Tuesday

Temperatures will rise into midweek before becoming briefly colder again Thursday. We also have several light snow chances.

Roller coaster temps with a few clipper systems this week 

Flurries and light snow showers will continue to push south and southeast Monday morning. Many received between four-tenths and six-tenths of an inch of fresh snow early Monday.

After a cold stretch of days, it won’t be as cold Monday through Wednesday. Highs Monday will range from the mid-20s to the teens in the northwest.

Another clipper system brings more snow showers to Minnesota Tuesday. Most snow will fall well north of Interstate 94 Tuesday into Wednesday. We’ll remain in an active pattern with clipper systems moving through nearly every other day.

Several inches of snow could fall in northeastern Minnesota and along the North Shore Tuesday into Wednesday with little accumulation in southern Minnesota.

Temperatures will warm briefly Wednesday — in the 30s in southern Minnesota — but they will drop in the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the single digits by afternoon in northern Minnesota.

Temperatures will continue to fall overnight Wednesday night. Northwestern Minnesota will be subzero while eastern Minnesota will see lows in the single digits.

Thursday will be cold and windy again with subzero wind chills statewide Thursday morning.

Another clipper could bring more snow showers Friday into Saturday. That system looks to take a similar northerly track as Tuesday’s system. 

It will also be milder by the weekend with highs in the 30s, perhaps near 40 for central and southern Minnesota by Sunday.
