High pressure settling into the region will bring clear skies and bright arctic sunshine for Thursday. Temperatures will climb into the upper teens, though wind chills will remain in the single digits, before a significant warmup arrives this weekend.
Nearing the end of our cold snap
We’re nearing the end of our stretch of below-average temperatures. High pressure overhead will bring sunshine with high temperatures warming into the upper teens.
Wind chill values will dip into the subzero range early Thursday but will rise to single digits above zero by Thursday afternoon.
Overnight lows will drop into the single digits to low teens for the metro area. A weak clipper system could bring some light snow and flurries mainly north of Interstate 94 early Friday. Northeastern Minnesota could see some light accumulations.

Winds will be switching to the southwest, bringing in some warmer air for Friday. Friday’s temperatures will be in the 20s statewide with some low 30s possible for southwestern Minnesota.
