Mild temperatures Sunday night will lead to a warm Monday, with highs ranging 5 to 10 degrees above average. Seasonal temperatures are expected on Wednesday, before a colder airmass moves in to close out the week. Several weather systems will impact Minnesota this week, bringing minor snow accumulations.
Areas of fog will linger into Sunday night and Monday morning as temperatures drop to around 30 degrees, and into the 20s for northern and central Minnesota.

The first of three systems will affect northern Minnesota for Monday as a low pressure system moves across the international border. This clipper system will bring anywhere from 1-3 inches for northern Minnesota through Monday. Winds will also be increasing out of the west behind the cold front.
Temperatures continue to trend mild Monday with highs warming into the mid to upper 30s in central and southern Minnesota.
Our second system will move through on Tuesday mainly affecting southern Minnesota. This quick moving system will bring 1-2 inches of snow mainly along Interstate 90. The metro area could see some minor accumulation from this system. Temperatures will briefly cool down to around our seasonable average this time of the year in the upper 20s.
Temperatures will drop on Wednesday, bringing a cold, quiet, and sunny day. Single-digit temperatures will return to northern Minnesota, while the south will experience cooler teens and low 20s.
We will continue to monitor the third and final system of the week on Thursday. Currently, a low-pressure system is expected to track across the Dakotas, moving southeast. Depending on the low's exact path, the metro area could see some accumulating snow. More details will be available after the next few model runs.
