A 38-year-old woman has been arrested in connection to a car crash that killed two people and injured three others Monday morning in Minneapolis.
Minneapolis police say a car driving north on Emerson Avenue N. struck another vehicle heading east on 26th Avenue N. The car that was struck veered off the road and into a bus shelter, where it hit a 17-year-old boy who was waiting for the bus to school.
The suspected driver of the northbound car was arrested on suspicion of criminal vehicular homicide and is being held at the Hennepin County jail. Police say she was booked after being released from the hospital.
The two women in the eastbound vehicle, identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, were 53-year-old Esther Jean Fulks, who died at the scene of the crash, and 57-year-old Rose Elaine Reece, who died after being transported to North Memorial Hospital.
