Rainy Friday into Saturday with some snow north
It’s yet another foggy morning. A dense fog advisory continues through midday Friday for most of Minnesota.
Rain showers will continue to fill in and move north Friday morning across most of eastern Minnesota into western Wisconsin. The heaviest rainfall looks to be Friday evening into the early overnight. Showers will persist into Saturday and mix with some snow in northeast Minnesota.
A widespread soaking is expected with up to a half-inch or more of rain for some spots in east-central Minnesota and along the North Shore.
Northeast Minnesota is the region most favored to receive some snowfall Saturday as colder air wraps into the system. A slushy 1 to 2 inches is possible.
High temperatures Friday through Sunday will be very mild, about 15 degrees above normal in the low 40s across southern Minnesota and 30s north.
We’ll also remain above freezing overnight Friday. The combination of mild temperatures and rainfall will diminish the snow pack in southern Minnesota. Colder temperatures finally return by the middle of next week to normal or slightly below normal levels.
