Colder air is moving in and that will keep temperatures steady or even falling through the day. Even colder air arrives late in the week.
Colder air moving in
Temperatures will dip as colder air moves across Minnesota Tuesday. Afternoon temperatures will be a couple degrees colder than morning temperatures.
With the colder air moving in we’ll have some scattered flurries and light snow showers that may create a dusting here or there. It’ll also be pretty breezy with northwest winds 10 to 15 mph to as high as 20 mph west.
Tuesday night will be colder with lows in the teens and single digits across the state with still mostly cloudy skies and a northwest breeze 10 to 15 mph.

Wind chill values early Wednesday will be in the single digits south to subzero north.
Even colder air moves in for later in the week. Highs by Friday and Saturday will be just in the teens for southern Minnesota and near zero north.
Even colder air moves in for next week. Temperatures look to be consistently cold and below normal through next week and potentially through mid January. Normal highs and lows through the period (in the Twin Cities) are 24 and 9 respectively.
We’re also still keeping our eye on a Sunday storm system that might deliver snow somewhere in the region. The models are in pretty wide disagreement on the track of that system and potential snowfall. Generally far southern Minnesota has the best chance of snowfall at this point.
