On the first day of WNBA free agency, the Minnesota Lynx were busy shoring up their 2025 squad.

The Lynx re-signed guard Natisha Hiedeman and signed French Olympic team center Marième Badiane. Badiane will begin her WNBA career with the Lynx.

“Natisha’s return to the Lynx was a high priority for us in free agency as she proved to be an important factor in our 2024 Finals run,” said Cheryl Reeve, head coach and president of basketball operations. “Marième was a sought-after international prospect following her successful showing at the Paris Olympics. She will be a great fit for the Lynx culture and on-court play to bolster our post depth.”

Hiedeman, a Green Bay, Wis., native, appeared in all 40 games for the Lynx last season, averaging 4.9 points, 1.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 0.8 steals in 15.2 minutes per game.

Badiane has been a strong presence on the French national team and in the EuroLeague. She helped lead France to a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, barely falling short to Reeve, Napheesa Collier and Team USA in the Gold Medal game.

A native of Brest, France, Badiane is currently playing with Istanbul-based Fenerbahçe and was part of the club’s FIBA EuroLeague and KBSL (Turkish League) championships last spring, alongside Lynx players Collier and Kayla McBride.

The Lynx open their season in Dallas against the Wings on May 16. Following a May 18 matchup in Los Angeles, Minnesota will return home to face Dallas on May 21 at Target Center.
