Some of the coldest air of winter will linger through midweek with subzero nights all week. Temperatures rapidly rebound by Sunday into next week.
Bitter cold through midweek then highs near 40 by Sunday
Extreme cold warnings and cold weather advisories (southeast) persist through late Monday morning with extreme cold warnings in effect again tonight into Tuesday morning, statewide.

Highs Monday will stay below zero for most of the state with partly cloudy skies and a northwest breeze at 10-15 mph.

Wind chills will remain 20 to 30 below zero even this afternoon, just a slight improvement from this morning’s wind chills of 30 to 40 below zero.

Overnight, there will be some of the coldest temperatures of winter with lows in the teens and 20s below zero with some 30s below zero north.

The cold persists through midweek with single-digit highs Tuesday and Wednesday.

Most snow will stay well south of Minnesota as the jet stream dips south with the arctic air.

By Sunday temperatures are in the 30s to even near 40 degrees. The mild weather continues into next week.
