Blustery winds are sweeping across the state as a low-pressure system moves through. Heavy snow is expected in the northern regions, while central and southern Minnesota may experience light rain and snow showers. Temperatures will warm up throughout the week, with a few chances for light precipitation.
Heavy snow for northern Minnesota
Snow showers will continue to fall across the Northland this Sunday, with some areas experiencing visibility reduced to less than 1/4 mile. Snowfall totals remain for the most part unchanged with the North Shore picking up the most.

Winter storm warnings will remain in effect until 7 a.m. Monday, while winter weather advisories will continue until 7 p.m. Sunday night.

A wind advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Sunday night for western Minnesota, where northwest winds could gust up to 50 mph.

Light rain and snow showers are possible for central through southern Minnesota on Sunday. Central Minnesota could see a light slushy coating on grassy areas north of Interstate 94.

High temperatures will warm a few degrees into the mid-40s for the metro, with 40s to the south and 30s in northern Minnesota.

Gusty winds continue into Sunday night with clearing skies from west to east.

Low temperatures will drop to the seasonal average in the upper 20s, with chilly teens in the north and 20s across central and southern Minnesota.

A northwest flow pattern aloft will bring a few small chances for precipitation this week, but amounts are expected to remain limited. Sunshine and warming temperatures into the 60s and 70s are anticipated by Friday.
