This week, Minneapolis City Council members will host community listening sessions as the city begins its search for its next chief of police.
Brian O'Hara resigned from the position in May.
The next Minneapolis police chief will set a tone for the department, which has faced public attention and criticism through reform efforts since George Floyd's killing in 2020.
Council member Soren Stevenson is hosting one of these sessions. He spoke with MPR News host Clay Masters about his community’s priorities.
