Police arrest suspect in Eden Prairie homecoming game shooting

Eden Prairie police have arrested an 18-year-old man suspected of shooting and injuring two people outside a high school homecoming football game on Oct. 2.

Eden Prairie police arrested an 18-year-old St. Louis Park man Thursday in connection with a shooting that injured two people outside Eden Prairie High School during its Oct. 2 homecoming football game.

Police say the alleged shooter was taken into custody without incident around 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Highway 55 and Penn Avenue in Minneapolis. He is being held at the Hennepin County Jail on probable cause for second-degree assault.

The shooting injured two people, ages 18 and 17, and prompted the evacuation of the football game.

Police say the investigation remains active and additional arrests or charges are possible. Anyone with information should contact the Eden Prairie Police.
