Obama talks school reform in Madison, Wis.
Marking one year since his victory in the presidential election, President Barack Obama told a crowd at a Madison middle school that long-term economic success can only be achieved by making investments in education.
School districts across Minnesota held elections Tuesday for school boards and for ballot questions that ask voters to approve some form of local funding. In most cases, approval of those referenda will result in higher property taxes. In all, 67 districts are asking a total of 92 funding-related ballot questions.
