The results are in for Wisconsin’s recent primary election. Among them are a win for former Vice President Joe Biden in the Democratic presidential primary and for Judge Jill Karofsky, who was running for a 10-year term on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. She defeated the incumbent, conservative Justice Dan Kelly.

The election was nearly delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic. The state’s Republican-led Legislature challenged Democratic Gov. Tony Evers’ authority to delay the election and extend deadlines for absentee ballots. That challenge was ultimately decided by the U.S. Supreme Court, which allowed last week’s in-person election to proceed.

Kerri Miller talked with a Wisconsin Public Radio reporter about the results, takeaways from the vote and what to watch when it comes to future elections during the pandemic.
