Dave Nimmer, a former journalist, spent his career as a hard-charging police reporter turned managing editor at The Minneapolis Star newspaper before leaping into a career in television news at WCCO.
He taught journalism at the University of St. Thomas for eleven years before retiring and won a Minnesota book award in 1992 for “The Journey Goes On.”
Thirty years later, he’s back with a new book of essays, “The Home Stretch: North of 80—One Step at a Time.”
In the book, Nimmer, 81, writes, “When you get older, you get to be the real you.”
Nimmer joined Cathy Wurzer to talk about his career and life post-retirement.
