Over a thousand Minnesota officers to start wearing body cameras in 2022

Footage from local police body cameras has been a controversial focal point in cases of officer-involved shootings, violence and conflicts. Many Minnesota state officers were not mandated to wear the cameras — but that will change soon.

Starting in a few weeks, more than a thousand state law enforcement officers will begin suiting up with body cameras while on duty. MPR News reporter Brian Bakst told host Cathy Wurzer about the specifics of the policy.
