Every Tuesday, KAXE/KBXE radio in the Grand Rapids-Bemidji area airs nature reports as observed by local students. Phenologist John Latimer leads the discussions. Phenology is the the study of changes in nature over the seasons — and Latimer believes that even though the winter landscape looks bleak, there's a lot going on.

Latimer told host Cathy Wurzer more about his show “Phenology” and his school phenology program. They also listened to a report from an intrepid young nature reporter.

You can find more phenology reports from students and Latimer on KAXE/KBXE’s website and on Apple Podcasts. There’s also an active Facebook group around the project called “KAXE-KBXE Season Watch.”
