Axel Henry named new St. Paul Chief of Police by Mayor Carter

On Tuesday morning, St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter announced that he had chosen current St. Paul Police Commander Axel Henry to be the city’s next chief of police. If approved by the St. Paul City Council, Henry will be the permanent replacement for retired Chief Todd Axtell. MPR News reporter Tim Nelson was at St Paul city hall for the announcement and joined Melissa Townsend to talk about it.
