Minnesota wins the Walter Cup in inaugural PWHL championship

Minnesota has won the first ever Walter Cup championship Wednesday night in the Professional Women’s Hockey League. Minnesota was dominant in all phases of the game, beating Boston 3-0 in the fifth and deciding game of the championship series.

The Timberwolves, again, must win to keep their season alive tonight. The Wolves host the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of a best-of-seven playoff series.

And today marks the second anniversary of the tornado that ripped through the small town of Forada, just south of Alexandria.

This is an MPR News morning update, hosted by Phil Picardi. Music by Gary Meister.
