Minnesota House is officially split 67-67 after Democrat claims seat in special election

The Minnesota House is officially split 67-67 after Democrat claimed an open seat in a special election. DFLer David Gottfried defeated GOP opponent Paul Wikstrom in a Tuesday special election to fill a vacant House seat representing Roseville and Shoreview.

DFLer Erik Osberg has launched a campaign for Congress in Minnesota’s 7th District, a seat Republican Rep. Michelle Fischbach currently holds. Ahead of DFL primaries in 2026, Osberg says he will meet voters in their communities.
