
Meet Nancy Lebens
Nancy is a deputy managing editor at MPR News, responsible for weekly, monthly and quarterly planning of enterprise and event coverage.
Nancy started as a part-time associate producer for “Midmorning” in 2002 before becoming a producer for the program in 2004. She worked the evening editing shift for MPR News for 10 years, guiding daily and breaking news.
Nancy’s work has received awards and accolades, including a national Edward R. Murrow Award for her coverage of the fatal police shooting of Justine Ruszczyk, a Gracie Allen Award from the Alliance for Women in Media and a Southern Regional Emmy Award.
Nancy has a master's degree from the Missouri School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree from Colgate University. She loves to explore bikeways in the Twin Cities and across Minnesota and aims to get to the St. Croix River every summer and fall.
