Dallas-based HKS Inc. beat out four other competitors to design the new Vikings stadium. At a public meeting on October 15 they released more of their proposed stadium designs. The Vikings and the architectural firm hope to unveil a final design in January or February.

A wildfire destroyed at least six structures as it skirted the small city of about 700 people near the Canadian border. The local nursing home, school, assisted living center and a group home, all in the southern portion of the city, were evacuated.
